Minutes of the meeting of the Strathcona Accessibility and Inclusion Advisory Committee held on Monday, October 7, 2024, at the Strathcona Regional District office, located at 990 Cedar Street, Campbell River, BC.

A quorum having been confirmed, the Chair called the meeting to order at 1:05 p.m. with the following members physically in attendance or participating electronically:

Member Lenahan led a discussion regarding the communication of barriers with municipalities and stakeholders.

Etiquette and Education on Blindness
 
Member Houle led a discussion regarding etiquette and education on blindness and advised the Committee of additional barriers that he identified.

Application to SPARC BC for Accessibility Training

THAT the Strathcona Accessibility and Inclusion Advisory Committee recommend that an application be submitted for a $25,000 grant to the SPARC BC Local Community Accessibility Grant to develop an accessibility education and awareness program.
