| The Corporate Officer called for nominations for the position of Natural Resources Committee Chair.
Director Baker nominated Director Dahl. Director Dahl declined the nomination with thanks.
Director Jack nominated Director Baker. Director Baker accepted the nomination with thanks.
The Corporate Officer called again for nominations and there were none.
The Corporate Officer declared Director Baker elected by acclamation to the position of Chair. |

| The Corporate Officer called for nominations for the position of Natural Resources Committee Vice Chair.
Director Davis nominated Director Jack. Director Jack accepted the nomination with thanks.
The Corporate Officer called again for nominations and there were none.
The Corporate Officer declared Director Jack elected by acclamation to the position of Vice Chair. |

| Truck Loggers Association
|
|
| The Chair welcomed Bob Brash, Executive Director of the Truck Loggers Association who made a presentation regarding the current state of forestry in BC. |
|
| Director Jack left the meeting.
The presentation continued. |
|
| The Chair thanked Mr. Brash for his presentation. |
|
| The Chief Administrative Officer advised that a notice of motion would be forthcoming to the next meeting as follows:
WHEREAS Forestry works for communities in every corner of the province, from jobs to exports, to providing revenues for hospitals, schools and roads and communities;
AND WHEREAS the future of forestry is at risk, with the closure of half of BC mills in the last two decades, and harvest levels falling to more than 40% below the annual allowable cut;
AND WHEREAS a sustainable forest sector must have access to a reliable annual allowable cut to support the services and infrastructure British Columbians rely provide families with livable wages, and bring stability to the supply chain;
THEREFORE the Natural Resources Committee directs staff to send a letter Minister Ralston, and Minister of State Mercier, and Chief Forester Shane Berg, requesting a meeting to discuss their meaningful commitment to delivering a stable, accessible and reliable annual cut. |

| The Chair welcomed Michael Armstrong, Vice President, Council of Forest Industries, who made a presentation regarding the importance of the forest sector in British Columbia and the actions that the Council of Forest Industries (COFI) is taking to ensure the viability of the sector. |
