FIRST NATIONS RELATIONS COMMITTEE - NOTICE OF MEETING


Wednesday, October 21, 2020
Strathcona Regional District office located at 990 Cedar Street, Campbell River, BC commencing at 9:30 a.m.

The purpose of the meeting is to permit consideration of matters listed on the agenda below and, where appropriate, to provide recommendations to the Regional Board. Unless otherwise noted, all resolutions will be decided pursuant to section 208(1) of the Local Government Act, which requires that all voting members of the Committee in attendance vote and each member receives one vote.

 The Chair welcomed Tim Jones, Field Services Specialist, First Nations who gave a presentation regarding Recycle BC recycling and recycle programs.

THAT the minutes of the regular meeting of the First Nations Relations Committee held on February 26, 2020 be adopted.

 Pending full membership of the Ka:'yu:'k't'h'/Che:k:tles7et'h' First Nations
 
 The Chair acknowledged the eight year process that has led to the pending full membership of the Ka:'yu:'k't'h'/Che:k:tles7et'h' First Nations (KCFN) to the Strathcona Regional District Board. The Chair stated that he looks forward to continue working with KCFN and hopes that all local First Nations will have seats at the Board table.
 
 Hereditary Chief Norman George
 
 The Chair advised of the passing of Hereditary Chief Norman George of the Mowachaht First Nation.
